Saving a rule file (Bathymetry Solution)

You have the option to save the datasets, filters, and display rules as a composite surface model within the BIS geodatabase. The composite surface model is an efficient way to organize your datasets and their filters and display rules into an archived and retrievable package for future use where your composite surface model can also be accessed by others.

Steps:
  1. Build and save the surface model.
  2. Click Save Rules on the Compose Surface window to save the set of rules in a file.

The Save As dialog box appears.

    NoteNote:

A saved rule set is not associated with any particular data or a surface. To save rules along with data, click the Save Surface Model button Save Surface Model at the top of the Compose Surface window.

    Save As dialog box
  3. Type a name for the rule file in the File name text box.
  4. Click Save.

These files can be loaded in a new Compose Surface window session and applied to a different set of bathymetry data.
