Node Reduction By Priority rule sample results
The following samples show Node Reduction By Priority rule execution results on two diagrams.
Sample 1—Reducing filtered nodes using the Select nearest node option
For the schematic diagram template implementing the following sample 1 diagram (figure 1.1), a Node Reduction By Priority rule is defined to reduce the blue nodes:
These blue nodes are Station schematic nodes whose Type field value is E.
In the rule tab, a SQL filter is specified for filtering out these specific nodes. The other Node Reduction By Priority rule attributes are specified so the reduction operates without degree constraint, and the target detection works with the Select the nearest node option:
Figure 1.2 shows the result obtained after the diagram update while the reduction rule is active:
Using the Identify tool on schematic features contained in a diagram for which nodes have been reduced allows you to identify not only the clicked schematic features but also their related reduced schematic features.
In the same way, using the Propagate Schematic Selection To Map command while a schematic feature related to several reduced schematic features is selected in a diagram selects not only the GIS feature associated with that selected schematic feature but also all the GIS features associated with the related schematic features that have been reduced:
Sample 2—Reducing nodes by priority
For the following sample 2 diagram (figure 2.1), a Node Reduction By Priority rule is defined to reduce the TransformerBank schematic nodes represented by a triangle. They are all related to the same schematic feature class:
The Node Reduction By Priority rule attributes have been specified so the reduction operates on all the schematic features implemented by the TransformerBank schematic feature class without connection constraint. The target detection works with the Select the highest priority node option. The ServiceLocation node schematic feature class (with nodes represented by a green empty circle) is the highest priority class; the ProtectionDeviceBank schematic feature class (black empty circle) is the second highest priority class; and the ElectricNetwork_Net_Junctions (black full circle) is the lowest priority class:
Figure 2.2 shows the result obtained after the diagram update while the reduction rule is active:
Note that as the diagram was laid out and saved before update, the links kept their saved vertices.
