This topic applies to ArcGIS for Desktop Standard and ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced only.

Installing ArcGIS Workflow Manager extension for Desktop

Prerequisite:

Before installing ArcGIS Workflow Manager, close all applications on your computer and verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Start the installation program by double clicking setup.exe in the installation package.

Steps:

1. Click Next on the Welcome to the ArcGIS Workflow Manager 10.1 Installation Wizard dialog box.

   The License acceptance dialog box appears.

2. After reviewing the agreement, choose to accept and click Next.

   The User Information dialog box appears.

3. Enter the information and click Next.
4. Choose the location to which you want ArcGIS Workflow Manager installed and click Next.

   A dialog box appears detailing the feature that will be installed and the disk requirements for it.

   Note:

   All the features will be installed by default.

5. Click Next.

   Note:

   You can choose not to install the Developer Kit or Task Assistant Manager by clicking the drop-down list and choosing Entire Feature will be unavailable.

6. Click Next to begin the installation.
7. Once the installation is complete, click Finish to exit.

Installing the Task Assistant Manager component

During the ArcGIS for Workflow Manager installation, you can choose to install the Task Assistant Manager component. The Task Assistant Manager components allow you to use micro workflows in ArcMap or define these workflows. This is broken down into "Task Assistant Manager Designer" and "Task Assistant Manager User", and you can choose what level you want to install after running the installation. The following steps will discuss how to make this change.

Steps:

1. After the installation is complete, click Finish to exit.
2. Click Start menu > All Programs > Task Assistant Manager > Configuration Manager

   The (Administrator) Configuration Manager is displayed.

3. Click the Settings tab.
4. Choose the Run as Designer option to enable the Designer mode of Task Assistant Manager.
The default installation is the Task Assistant Manager User.
