Output from Update Traffic Incidents

The Update Traffic Incidents geoprocessing tool creates or updates a point feature class. The points in the feature class represent events that affect traffic speeds. The fields of the point feature class are described in this topic.

Standard fields

Update Traffic Incidents outputs a standard set of fields irrespective of the provider from which you download data. Provider-specific fields are listed in subsequent sections.

Field name	Description
ObjectID	The system-managed ID field.
Shape	The geometry field indicating where the point is located.
Severity	The severity of the incident's impact on traffic. This field is limited to a domain of values. The values that are in the domain depend on which data provider you use. The data type of the field also depends on where the data originated from.
IncidentType	The type of traffic incident that the feature represents; for instance, an incident could be categorized as an accident, construction, planned event, and so on. IncidentType is often used to symbolize incidents. This field is limited to a domain of values. The values that are in the domain depend on which data provider you use.
Start_LocalTime	When the traffic incident begins. This date and time value is given in the local time zone, which is based on where the incident is. If a time zone boundaries feature class isn't provided as input, this field is always null.
End_LocalTime	When the traffic incident is expected to end. This date and time value is given in the local time zone, which is based on where the incident is. If a time zone boundaries feature class isn't provided as input, this field is always null.
LastUpdated_LocalTime	When information about the incident was last updated. This date and time value is in the local time zone, which is based on where the incident is. If a time zone boundaries feature class isn't provided as input, this field is always null.
Start_UTCTime	When the traffic incident begins. This date and time value is in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
End_UTCTime	When the traffic incident is expected to end. This date and time value is in UTC.
LastUpdated_UTCTime	When information about the incident was last updated. This date and time value is in UTC.
Description	A textual summary of the traffic incident. This field often describes the type of incident, the name of the street or intersection the incident is on, and so on.

Data Provider Fields

Some of the fields in the output points feature class are specific to the data provider and are furnished in addition to the fields listed above.

NAVTEQ fields

The fields listed and described in this section are specific to incidents generated from a feed provided by NAVTEQ.

Field name	Description
Location	A textual description of where the incident occurs.
FullDescription	A textual summary of the traffic incident. This field includes the information from the Description field and often describes more details, such as how many lanes are blocked and whether emergency responders are on the scene.

TomTom fields

The fields listed and described in this section are specific to incidents generated from a feed provided by TomTom.
