Selecting unverified features (Maritime Charting)

The Select Unverified Features tool searches for any unverified features in the entire workspace, regardless of what is actually loaded in the Table Of Contents window. If a layer that has unverified features is not loaded, the tool loads it automatically. The tool selects the unverified feature(s) in the Nautical dataset, the three deletes feature classes, and records in the PLTS_COLLECTIONS table.

NoteNote:

The Select Unverified Features tool is only enabled in an edit session.

You can use this tool to select unverified features during the quality control process so that you know what features have changed. You can do this inside a Reviewer session or on the Update tab of the Feature Manager window. For example, you can use this tool when you want to post data to the Default version, but there are unverified features that prevent you from posting; before posting, you can find all the verified features in the workspace and review them individually in the Browse Features window.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Nautical.
  4. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    NoteNote:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    TipTip:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  5. (Optional) Start a Reviewer session in one of the following if you want to use ArcGIS Data Reviewer functionality to manage your results:
  6. Click the Select Unverified Features button Select Unverified Features on the Nautical toolbar.

If there are no unverified features or collection records in the database, a message appears saying that there are no unverified features. If there are unverified features or collection records, they are listed in the Browse Features window and also selected on the Update tab of the Manage Features window.

    NoteNote:

If you switch to map selection in the Browse Features window, you will be able to select or browse through one feature at a time or select the features together in the Update tab of the Manage Features window. However, you will not be able to select the unverified collection records on the Update tab unless you run the Select Unverified Features tool again or use the Relationship Manager tool to select unverified collection records.

    NoteNote:

You need to close the Browse Features window before you run the tool again.
