Data & Maps for ArcGIS
Data & Maps for ArcGIS includes a set of ready-to-use maps and data layers for use with ArcGIS. This content includes a variety of basemap and thematic layers for the world, and detailed data for the United States, North America, and Europe.
The data is delivered with ready-to-use maps (.MXD) and layers (.LYR) that can be used in ArcGIS Desktop or published with ArcGIS Server. Some data has been specifically optimized for publishing with ArcGIS Server.

Downloadable data and layers you can use offline:
- Data & Maps for ArcGIS (Online): Choose from dozens of layer packages containing the latest available datasets from the Esri Data & Maps group on ArcGIS.com. Use these layers in ArcGIS Desktop or to publish with ArcGIS Server. (Note: Requires ArcGIS 9.3.1 or higher.)
Data on DVD
- Data & Maps for ArcGIS (on DVD): Use the DVD version of Data & Maps that ships in the box with ArcGIS to access the full set of over 120 data layers. Use these data layers in ArcGIS Desktop or to publish with ArcGIS Server.
- Data & Maps for ArcGIS Server: Includes ready-to-use maps that have been optimized for publishing with ArcGIS Server as high-performance map cache. Use these maps to quickly publish with ArcGIS Server via Intranet or Internet.
